Why IndenturedWhaler? Originally this was to be myname.net, but then I decided I wanted the title to be more meaningful. So after agonizing for a few days, I was sitting to dinner with a friend of mine and his girlfriend, who is from Hawaii. In the course of relating our genealogies, she mentioned that she had Spanish ancestors who had jumped ship in the Aloha State. Why? To escape their lives as….indentured whalers. When I stopped laughing, I realized that there is a bit of indentured whaler in all of us. So there you have it.
